Coaching

I’ve been a family therapist for over 15 years. I’ve worked as a Collaborative Divorce Child                                                                       Specialist for almost 10 years and reunification therapist for 14 years. During that time, I have                                                               worked with numerous families during and after their divorce.

My experience as a Collaborative Divorce Child Specialist allows me to hear the children’s                                                                       voices and provides insight into how divorce is impacting them. I’ve worked in Collaborative                                                                   Divorce teams where I have provided crucial insight for crafting a parenting plan that                                                                                 considers the impact to the child(ren) and what parents want for the future.

I help parents manage the emotions that come with working through a divorce, helping children adjust, and how to be a good co-parent. Working with a coach in this area rather than litigation attorneys means reduced tension, conflict and having productive and meaningful conversations that yield the results parents agree to rather than what a judge decides. It’s also a more cost-effective way to create a unique plan.

I’m here to support you through all phases and stages during and after your divorce. I look forward to working with you.

Parenting Plan Coaching

Parenting plans should be unique because your family is unique. We can create a plan that includes factors that an attorney or judge may not consider. Most attorneys won’t help you fill out a thoughtful parenting plan that fits where you currently are and the future you want for your family. Together we craft a plan that fits who you are, your life and your child(ren)’s lives.

Create a plan you can live with; because that is exactly what you will be doing. Living with this plan as a guide for the future. Don’t let someone you don’t know dictate what your future looks like. Once we create your plan, it can be forwarded to your attorney(s) for filing.

Parent Coaching

If you are going through a divorce, you are probably overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done to decouple and untangle all aspects of your life from your partner. Making decisions for your children and what life will look like for them may feel overwhelming. Most parents want to ensure their children are minimally impacted by their divorce. Your children will be impacted. What matters most is how you proceed. Will things be done in a way to support your children or will things be done in a way that creates additional stress and conflict for them.

  • Learn how to talk to your children about divorce.

  • Get educated about the way children see divorce.

  • Learn what would work best for transitions

Co-Parent Coaching

After your divorce is finalized, what happens next? Typically, the mindset is that you are a parent on your own when you have your children: a single parent or a co-parent. Actually, you’ve always been a co-parent. Your child(ren) have always had both their parents, and your children deserve to keep both their parents.

After a divorce, it just looks different. I can help you take steps toward effective communication and co-parenting with reduced conflict. Learn what are best practices for co-parenting in two homes. Learn how to navigate this new space.

A few of the things we can work on together:

  • How to communicate with your ex in effective ways.

  • How to communicate with your children in effective age-appropriate ways.

  • How and when to introduce a new partner.

Have support through the entire divorce process from start to finish. I can also provide support afterwards. After all is settled, and you want to begin a new life for yourself, have someone who knows what you have been through and has the knowledge and expertise to get you started on the next phase of your life.

*Please note that while I am licensed as a therapist, in these roles, I am not acting or delivering any therapy services. My therapy skills are used to help manage tension and hold a safe space. My therapy skills also provide the knowledge and expertise regarding children, divorce and family systems.

**Parent Coaching help can be combined with Child Specialist work or Co-parenting work.
